Mariah Smith

Lieutenant Colonel Mariah Smith is a U.S. Army Military Police officer working as a Congressional Liaison for the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller. Her office works with the Appropriations Committees in Congress to fund the Army at levels necessary to maintain readiness, endstrength, and achieve modernization goals. Early in her career Mariah deployed to Iraq as a platoon leader in the initial 2003 invasion. Later she served three tours in Afghanistan in 2007, 2010, and 2014, including a NATO tour. She has also served in Kuwait, the Horn of Africa, and Korea and was a congressional fellow.  Mariah is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is Airborne and Air Assault qualified. Mariah holds a B.A. in Psychology from Vanderbilt University and a Master’s degree from Webster University in Security Management.
